§ 40-98. No parking zones.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle, boat, trailer, camper upon any area designated as a "no parking" zone by clearly marked no parking signs. The parish council is hereby authorized to designate certain areas as "no-parking" zones where such areas must be kept free of parked vehicles and other obstructions for public safety reasons. All existing and properly marked "no parking" zones are hereby adopted as of the effective date of this section. All future "no parking" zones on parish-owned roads, streets and/or rights-of-way, and/or public streets as allowed by law, shall become effective by ordinance declaring such area(s) as "no parking" zones, such ordinance to be in conformity with the general procedures set forth in the Parish Home Rule Charter. Any such zone shall be clearly marked with appropriate signage.

    (a)

    The following "no parking" zones are hereby established:

    1.

    Lake Ridge Drive from its eastern dead end boundary to a point 25 feet west;

    (b)

    Whoever unlawfully parks in clearly marked "no parking" zones shall be fined not less than $100.00, plus court costs.
